During high school the boys wanted to do their own thing so they started their own group. Hense 1k... One of a kind. the basic idea caught on and soon they became hundreds strong. Impressive for a small town in rural North Carolina.
Freestyling was a past time that they indulged in and used to playfully tease one another. Naturally it lead to deeper thoughts and setting it to beats. Drake, Bonez, and Roach rapped yet they needed a singer. Enter Brandon Stephens, just what 1k needed. They performed at school and entered talent shows. Winning several competions and a noted fan base following that kept growing.
Radio DJ's took notice and the boys became a regular staple on the local radio station's unsigned artist show. The exposure has increased the fan base and interest and brought about several gigs.
They are regularly featured on southeast N.C. radio. Must give love to BIGG B of Coast 97.3. They have performed at "Carolina's Crunkest", "Palace" in Fayetteville, "Triple C Club", in Chadbourn, "Club Marrz" in Wilmington
and a spontaneous concert at "bike fest 2005", which turn atlantic beach out during bike fest. Thanks go out to Corey Faison @ D.Nice Productions for featuring them at several parties in southeast N.C. 1K has performed at the G Spot in S.C. and The Pelican Room in Whiteville N.C. The group has been performing at local parties and entered and won the "one mic, one chance" contest in wilmington, N.C.
They are still performing in various clubs in the area.
The first Cd, "STEALIN STUDIO TIME" was successful and was immediately followed by and even greater second cd, "SORRY 4 STEALIN STUDIO TIME". The Third and best selling CD was released and titled "WE GOT THIS". They constantly kick out unreleased cuts for radio shows. Songs range from the crunkest joints to the ballads for the ladies, dancin beats and and smack talking comedy cuts. Their talents are limitless.
1K is currently to creating and performing, they wish to express thanks to fans and appreciate all the love.
